“Satisfied with training progress”

We spoke to Hertha head coach Pál Dárdai to get his thoughts on the Wintercup in Bielefeld.

Berlin- Hertha BSC finished the Wintercup in fourth place. Pál Dárdai spoke to on Saturday about both matches against 1. FC Köln and Hannover 96 as well as the upcoming Bundesliga fixture against VfB Stuttgart.

Pál Dárdai: We deserved to lose both matches. We spoke a lot about defending rather than attacking before the match and you could tell. I am satisfied with the progress we have made in training, but not with our performances today. I don’t really have many positive things to say. I am pleased that Vladimir Darida and Julian Schieber were able to get back on the pitch, but the Bundesliga is going to be an even tougher challenge. We have enough time to recover though and we need to work through our tactics again. I am pleased that nobody got injured when the players trained so much this week. I am however, still pleased that we took part in the Wintercup. The conditions, the pitches and the referees were all good. I would like to thank everybody involved in organising the tournament.
